Cheating to Pass

Tallahassee, FL – CNBC will be airing a special titled “Faking the Grade: Classroom Cheaters” that highlights students who cheat in class and teachers that allows the to get away with it. This topic has become a 21st-century phenomenon.

The special that is airing tonight at nine will take a look at cheating in schools and universities. One of the topics it will touch on will be some of the teachers who change the grades of certain students to make their institutions look better.

Another part of the special shows how some parents are helping their children cheat to pass a class. While some parents are doing this unfortunate trend many do not agree with it.

“We need to give kids the message that it’s the learning that’s important,” one mother said, “and it’s not passing these tests.”

While some parents are upset at this trend, cheating has become apart of the norm in some schools and universities because of the increase of cellphones and other technology devices. Some future education majors think it’s only going to get worse as technology increases.

“Cheating has been around forever and with new technology comes more cheating,” said Chimere Wright an elementary education student, “I don’t believe it will change sad to say.”

Recent scandals have been caused due to cellular device usage in the classroom. The special touches on how memorization of information will become even less of the norm rather than knowing where to go look it up on the Internet in the upcoming years.

TV for Presidency

TALLAHASSEE, FL -While President Barack Obama has been seen on late night television there has yet to be an appearance from Mitt Romney.

Producers of “Saturday Night Live” believed that Romney would make an appearance shortly after the first presidential debate. But he did not follow in the footsteps of old republican candidates, his camp slowly stop making contact with the television show.

Lorne Michaels, who is the producer for the show is keeping spots open for both candidates. While President Obama has been seen all over late night television shows Mitt Romney has yet to accept an offer.

“Most regular viewers of the news made up their minds a long time ago,” said Ben LaBolt a spokesmen for the Obama Campaign. “So while the president has continued to do interviews in traditional news venue, our goal in the final days of the race must be to reach voters where they are.”

Obama has done interviews for networks such as NBC and MTV and making appearances on “Daily Show” that airs on Comedy Central and Jay Leno’s “Tonight Show” on NBC.  His appearance on “The Daily Show” gave the show its highest ratings this year at 2.8 million.

Obama isn't the only one in his camp making television appearances, first lady Michelle Obama is seen on Disney channel, B.E.T and visited Jimmy Kimmel on ABC.

Some workers for Obama feel that this is good and will give him the opportunity to be seen in front of different viewers.

"I feel like the general public watches late night TV shows more then they watch the news," said Brystal Burton a field manager for Florida Fairshare action, which canvas for Obama and Al Lawson. "It will definitely help Obama and put him in front of different viewers."

Romney keeps denying request to appear on late night televsion shows it could be affecting his chances of winning. Whatever the case maybe, "Saturday Night Live" has only one show before the election and Michaels sayis the spot is for either candidate.

"I still think something could happen, because the campaign is so close," said Michaels.

Here TODAY Gone Tomorrow

TALLAHASSEE, FL - Fans fled to Facebook with their comments about the recent change in co-hosts on NBC's “Weekend Today.” They were upset that the network put Jenna Wolfe out of her job.

This isn’t the first time the network has made a change like this. Ann Curry left from the “Today” show in June.

Now the network has replaced Wolfe with Erica Hill, who is now the new co-host for “Weekend Today.”

Thousands of fans went to express their anger on the NBC Facebook page.

“First Ann Curry, now Jenna Wolfe getting the short end of the stick,” said one of the thousands of Facebook comments.

The social media rant did not stop on Facebook many fans who were outraged tweeted their feelings on Twitter.

Wolfe will continue to work with “Weekend Today” as its new anchor. Her salary will take a slight decrease because of her new position.

Fans who commented about her decrease believe that the show is not loyal to its fans.

“Why does the ‘Today’ show keep messing around with their anchors,” said a fan. “ Isn't viewer loyalty worth anything?”

NBC sees the changes as an overall improvement to the show.

Wolfe still considers herself as a “Today” anchor, and is ok with Hill taking her spot.

“Our ‘Today’ family got stronger this weekend with the addition of Erica to our team,” said Wolfe.

WHOSE REALLY #WINNING

TALLAHASSEE , FL - NBC has crushed the competition by being the highest rated television network for the new season. Most of their viewers are between the ages of 18-49 years old. NBC has held the number one spot for three weeks, and hopes to continue the momentum in the fourth week. Executives for the network said that they thought they would do well for this new season.
“We were pretty sure we would do better, and had laid the groundwork and had the strategy to do better,” said Stephen B. Burke, the NBC chief executive.

NBC increased their numbers by 15 percent, while other networks such as ABC, FOX and CBS went down. In fact, CBS went down 24 percent after Charlie Sheen left the hit show “Two and a Half Men.”
With hit shows like "The Voice," "Revolution" and "The New Norm" it shouldn't come as as a surprise as to why advertisers are spending more money on NBC.

College students in Tallahassee said that they watch NBC for Sunday Night football and their hit sitcoms, which they feel may have played a major part with NBC being number one.
“NBC is probably number one because they have a lot of Emmy award winning sitcoms,” said Benjamin Criswell, a student at Florida A&M University. “Sunday night football is a big deal because it’s the heart of football season and they usually schedule the best games of the week.”

Modern day BLACKFACE?

At first glance this picture looks like President Barack Obama is speaking with Jay Z and a Caucasian women. After a second look I realized it was Beyonce! Someone I look up to in a sense, she is a powerful African American female, and yet she looks like a Caucasian female in this picture. See I love Beyonce', and would never want to speak bad of her, and I am not, but y B? I feel like this could be a possibly be a modern day BLACKFACE. I say this only because Blackface is a form of theatrical make up which was put on to stereotype African Americans, it was another race view of how African Americans looked. So when I say this is a modern day blackface, I believe that someone is making Beyonce', a person who appeals to millions of African American young girls and women, look lighter and more "white". Which is probably why America thinks a African American female who is lighter with permed hair is more acceptable to the public and have a more "commercial" look.
If you think about it natural hair for African American women is frowned upon, and darker women have to have a softer look to be accepted. But why? I think that means something, and it could just be me, but I really think that means something! I just would like you to think about it. Who is to say what's acceptable and whats not? Let's Not Be So VAIN!
